United Planning Organization (UPO) has partnered with District residents on their journey to economic security. We give them the tools to become the change agents of their lives.
WE LISTEN AND RESPOND
to people’s urgent needs, helping them overcome barriers to education, employment, health, and housing. We are educators, poverty fighters, and community builders who tailor our programs to each person’s strengths and needs.

UPO serves DC residents with low incomes by changing lives, embodying the spirit of hope, and making our community a better place to live. We are effective; that’s why we earned the National Award for Excellence in Community Action.
